Georg Philipp Telemann was an imaginative musical story-teller, and his burlesques – colorful settings of the tales of Don Quixote and Gulliver’s Travels – beguile and delight. The ensemble gives a fresh twist to these whimsical fantasies, and to Telemann’s Viola Concerto and one of George Frideric Handel’s Grand Concertos in the style of Corelli. “No group has done more in the past five years to freshen and energize Denver’s classical-music scene than the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado.” (Denver Post)
On Pointe believes that even the young can love and experience the performing arts. While sharing the love of dance we strive to develop desire, dedication and discipline. As humans, we experience a range of emotions. What better way to share those emotions than on stage to music? Come share an evening with us as our dancers move and perform "Mixed Emotions."
The inaugural season of our Thursday evening outdoor concerts on the grass adjacent to the PACE Center kicks off with the upbeat Gypsy jazz stylings of Swing Je T'aime. Classical nuances add drama, and a touch of pop brings zest and spunk, while French undertones and Brazilian beat give the music an exotic flare.
Bring your blankets and canvas chairs as well as a picnic, but please leave the booze at home! Bars and concession stands will be open during the performance.
